fun and work

we went to the sea, and washed two sacks of fleeces. They were incredibly dirty. abeetle came to investigate, some horseflies too, ugly bites, those.
and I made a pincushion- I need it, with all the sewing I've been doing!
and a snake left me a gift.

grace, I'm knackered, I could use another pair of helping hands...you are welcome any time, and no, I;m joking, I won't make you work

Hi martine
I have huge quantities of fleece, extremely dirty, and a relatively calm sea, and also sun that will dry it fast.
there was some felting, from the waves
which means that you can;t leave it in there and let the waves do the work
it was fine when I let it float, out of the net, and chased back the rogue bits
that means you must be able to stand in the water, doubled up for quite a while
also the water is clear, at least until I put the fleeces in, and I chose the stony beach
my feet still remember...so that is what it's like, over here, if you try it, tell me what happened
small quantities in net, short dips might work

well, your description of your technique may
have been labor intensive for you but again,
to me, sounds like heaven on earth. the
"visual" i got of the waves felting was
ecstatic. went to my daughter's to do the
training work with her Anatolian livestock
guardian pup and was telling her about it
and she laughed, saying it was as if i was
There! we decided if we ever go anywhere, we
will go to Greece.

yes yes yes grace
you are welcome to come and stay for as long as you like
Anatolian pup- Turkish? we went to Cappadokia, the sheepdogs were splendid
I told my boys next dog would be one of these
In the second photo at the top of the hill you can see the corner of the wall of the ancient city of rhamnous

Your pictures remind me of the textures on Crete. I would love to spend half of each each year there.
A day of fun and work ... and something to show for it, great! -J
