we went to the sea today, there was no one swimming, too cold. End of June, in Greece! I stitched some, and took photos. Telemaco went in the water, I put a jacket on..
all colours (on the cloths and threads) are from plants, with some help from rusty nails and little bacteria, except for the heart- I haven't gotten round to dyeing threads with madder yet
artificial light in the top two pictures, the beach scenes are from the cellphone

a feast for the eyes
hugs, yvette, and a bearhug for your friend
it s soothing to create a landscape using colors derived from a landscape. i hear dyeing with madder can be tricky. have you tried before?
I've tried, with little success, I'll go on trying. all the colours I've gotten up to now are beautiful, no red red yet, but I'll see what i;ll get on cotton yarn
each dyebath is a surprise, so many factors ..
but that makes dyeing with plants so exciting
to gather the rhamnus berries for this last experiment, I hardly needed to get up from my chair, they were dangling in front of my nose!
I love your site! I will come again.
Oh Manya, what wonderful pictures ... I feel such a longing to see Greece again!
I'm excited with your threads and natural dyeing and long very much to try something like this, too.
Please keep on - this is essential.
