September

September is a bit like the new year..
saying goodbye to the summer
I went to spain for a few days to see this young man who is already taller than his dad. My son Antonio who is now living in Warsaw.

Telemaco, second son, in the blue shirt, on the first day of school. it is his last year in primary school. He is growing fast too.
I am jobhunting, reading ads for childminders. I have made some tentative efforts to actually get a job, but it seems I'm not quite decided yet..but the time is getting close, when I'll absolutely have to find a means for making money..

In the meantime I made a cloth for Leonidas, my cousins son, a cloth which actually got made! I had started a bigger one for him, but it wasn't getting finished any time soon, so i decided to make something that he could hold while still a baby.. it took about 15 hours to make.. with finishing it as the main aim

and I like it.

the growl worked!
so here we go

martine, thanks for your wishes, kind thoughts help, especially when you express them!

deanna-thanks, I put in different texture stitches thinking of little fingers exploring

grace-not too long fringes in unexpected situations, love doing that! sons, yes, sons..., and yes, my dad was my "sponsor" since we separated with the boys' father, but the times they are a changin' seems I have to "sponsor" myself again.I used to make lots of money, always having fun..never learnt to value the stuff, so here goes..hey ho!

jude- I know you get the words and most of what is behind them too..you read deep. thanks for being there and continuing.:-)))))))

Hi, Manya, Thanks for stopping by my blog. I read with interest your "What it is like" post. What you describe sounds very familiar, the future does not seem certain anymore. On a lighter note, your textile work coupled with storytelling is marvelous. I really liked the warm colors in your latest piece. I look forward to following your projects.
best, nadia

Hello Manya, I come via Jude and have posted anonymously previously. Am working on using technology properly. Love your baby cloth, the colours and texture - such a great idea. Times are tough. I wish you all the best looking for work - making baby cloths perhaps??? At least in the meantime??? Take care.

Dear Manya - the faded reds and orange in the babycloth are beautiful! Your work is very special, and so are you!

I wish there will be many good surprises for you to come and that you will find your way also during these hard times.
