In Warsaw, walking, I remembered what fun it is to swing your arms as you go along. I piled scraps and "married" them, just to feel the thickness- then, all through my train and plane travels I stitched and stiched, in a "lets see what will happen if.." manner. now it is a hard cloth, sturdy, I think, but I don't like it very much.. all colours are from plants, even the threads, and I don't agree with it anymore..but it is definitely a learning piece, it will become a pouch-bag thingy when I decide which way is up!!
the light is changing, nights are cooler
and we still go for a swim every now and then

I like it. Happy equinox. Again, the light and dark find a balance.
it is hard not to like all those stitches but it is the feel of a cloth that affects me mostly
i hope that you can feel the need
or desire to talk about this more.
it is really interesting to me...
that something has changed inside
you. the cloth, it's stitches are
yes, fine. But something inside
you no longer agrees with something
there.
if it makes good sense, i would
like to know what you make of this.
any time...a year from now...
next week, whenever. but i really
like your words and i also like the
stitches. wondering, xo g
..I like the cloth...
...and the way the colours reflect the ones in the bottom photo....
A pouch will be useful...
..a "Spellsinger's Bag" maybe?
jasmine, thanks, though the balance of dark with so much light in the sky is somewhat precarious, no?
jude, chris, grace there are bits of it I like very much, but they don't agree with each other.. the blue was good before stitching, now it is "shouting" the same with the blue thread..it is a bit non- balanced..I shall wash it, and see
the bits I like are begetting little projects of their own, so maybe it is teaching me.It is a first, of course, the first covered in stitch cloth I make, so I'm thinking maybe what happened is a few experiments too many. they will make themes for other experiments, more contained.
grace, another way to put what I feel about it is that it is haphazard but not charming enough ..
thanks for your comments, they made me think more deeply about this
jude, your grid comes to mind
chris, yes that is why I put the photo there. a path or road might do the trick, or, a balancing grey patch. the grey that is there already might be too small
hmmm...subtleties (sp?)...i am
thinking about this now.
ha!subtlety is not big in my repertoire........
maybe a good exercise to think about :-))
great stitching...nice header, too!
